Frequently asked questions in Ipswich, Spring Road

  • Do you sell pre-paid funeral plans?

Pre-paid funeral plans are an excellent way to lighten the burden of your loved ones while saving money by fixing the cost of the funeral to todays prices. All of our branches offer pre-paid funeral plans and will arrange a meeting between you and our pre-paid plan specialists, who are specially trained according to Financial Conduct Authority guidelines. We work with Golden Charter, one of the biggest and most trusted pre-paid funeral plan providers in the UK, to provide pre-paid funeral plans.

  • Can I scatter my loved one’s ashes at sea?

Yes, you can scatter your loved one’s ashes at sea, but there are certain regulations and practicalities which should be considered. You must not scatter any non-biodegradable items (e.g. plastic flowers, containers, etc.), since they constitute pollution. Ashes must be scattered away from places where people swim or buildings, and they should be released as close to the surface as possible to avoid the effects of the wind. If you are scattering from the shore, you should check the tide times. If you are scattering on private waters, you must get permission. We would recommend talking to your funeral arranger.

  • Can I choose to have a male funeral director?

The Hunnaball Family Funeral Group have both male and female funeral conductors, all of whom are excellent. We understand that the traditions and beliefs of some communities require male funeral conductors. If you require a male funeral director, simply mention it to your funeral arranger and they will ensure that your wishes are followed. Equally, if you would prefer to have a lady funeral director, we will arrange that for you.

  • Can we fill the grave in ourselves?

We understand that in some cultures it is traditional for the family and friends to fill in the grave after the ceremony (what we call ‘back filling’). Simply talk to your funeral arranger and they will work with you to ensure the proper arrangements are made.
