Direct cremations/Unattended funerals

Direct cremation, or an unattended funeral as it is also known, is a simple, affordable alternative to more traditional funeral services available through your local family funeral director. It doesn’t include many of the elements usual to a funeral, which means that many of the additional expenses such as transport, additional staff, chapel fees, and funeral celebrant are removed from the final total. It also means that family and friends cannot attend, and that the cremation will take place a time convenient with the crematorium, after which the cremated remains will be returned to the appropriate branch for collection.

Every direct cremation we arrange is conducted with the same level of compassion and professionalism as every other funeral we arrange. Our experienced team are there to support you in making the arrangements, with clear help and advice with the many necessary details which still need to be addressed following every death.

On the day of the cremation, a member of the Hunnaball team will accompany your loved one to a local crematorium, treating them with the utmost dignity and respect. Then, following the cremation, your loved one’s cremated remains will either be returned to you, or dealt with according to your instruction, by scattering or interment.

A direct cremation can give families the freedom to respect the wishes of their loved one. They can then choose to celebrate the life of their loved one at a time and place that is most suitable to their circumstances, without the restriction of a traditional funeral.
