Our professional First Response Team

What every funeral director does is very much a team effort. When a person dies, they are cared for by many different people with a variety of skills, all of whom work unseen to make sure the deceased is treated with dignity, respect, and care at every step.

Often, the first members of the Hunnaball Family Funeral Group that people meet are the First Response Team. They are the gentlemen who answer the call to remove a deceased person from the place where they have died. They’re on call 24 hours a day and are known for their respectful attitude, professionalism, and attention to detail.

The First Response Team travel to all kinds of circumstances, in different homes and buildings and, with as little disturbance as possible, receive the deceased into our care. They leave the place where they’ve been clean and tidy, even making the bed and leaving a fresh rose behind them.

We are tremendously proud of the work they do, and you can read more about them on the News page of our website. They’re the epitome of the compassion and professionalism we hold at the heart of our business.

Hunnaball Five-O… what a team!

In June, some of our amazing work family picked up their oars and raced dragon boats for charity.

In aid of Fresh Start, New Beginnings, a charity which supports children and young people facing huge challenges, the Ipswich Marina was host to a fabulous day of racing and laughter.

Our ‘Men in Black’ team (which included some women) raised nearly £1200 and the event itself more than £25000, a magnificent effort. And to prove how committed to the cause our team were, they even fell in.

Next year, we hope to enter two teams and raise twice as much money!

New hearses

Our silver fleet of hearses and limousines have always caused a stir.

They look very special at a funeral service, adding an extra air of dignity without the more sombre presence of a black funeral car.

We’re especially pleased with our brand-new silver Mercedes hearses, which arrived at the beginning of the summer and are now busy all over Suffolk and Essex. A funeral should always be a special occasion, and our new hearses certainly help.

Now is the right time

The 29th July 2022 was the day when pre-paid funeral plans officially came under the umbrella of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

This is great news for lots of reasons, but the most important is that customers who take out a pre-paid funeral plan can truly have peace of mind, knowing that they’re supporting their loved ones as much as they possibly can and that their investment in the future is safe.

The Hunnaball Family Funeral Group now have a team of trained ‘Pre-paid Funeral Plan Champions’ who can offer guidance.
