Here at Hunnaball Family Funeral Group, we’re proud of the high level of careful service we can provide when working with you to create a fitting funeral for someone important, but for us, it’s more than that… we’re here for people.

Losing someone close to you can cause a very difficult time of emotion, confusion and stress, but we know very well that life itself can also be very challenging and overwhelming at any point, and for people of any age. It’s important to us to show our care and support for the community however we can, and one of the many ways we look to do that is by looking to support local charities, such as Ipswich-based Brave Futures, whenever we have the opportunity to do so and however we can.

Who Are Brave Futures?

Brave Futures provides specialist support for children and young people who have experienced sexual abuse, in Ipswich and wider Suffolk and Norfolk. Trauma can be so difficult to process and manage at any age, but particularly for developing minds. The charity works so hard to create safe spaces for children and young people where they can make sense of their confusion and pain, equipping them with the tools they need to work through the trauma they’ve experienced, to rebuild their lives and traverse the path from victim to survivor.

In our vocation, we know that life does, can and must, go on – not only for families following a heartbreaking loss, but also for people of any age that have that have faced the most difficult experience and challenges imaginable. Raising funds and awareness for charities like Brave Futures, who are working hard towards a brighter, stronger future for all, is just one of the many ways we hope to help make our local communities better, more positive and more supportive places.

Ipswich Dragon Boat Race, 2024

This year, #TeamHunnaball returned to participate in Brave Futures’ Ipswich Dragon Boat Race, which took place on Saturday 1st June on Ipswich waterfront. It was great to see so many people in attendance raising funds for the charity and cheering on our team – as well as our competitors – as we paddled our hardest, smiles on our faces, for the win. It was certainly a breezy one this year, but with the wind behind us, our dragon boat felt unstoppable.

We’ve joined in the fun and taken part in the race since 2022 and always have a fantastic time, and this year was of course no exception. We’re all very proud of all our team members taking to the water and getting soaked for a good cause – and some impressive race times, too, as we finished only half a second short of the semi-finals!

Excellent day of nautical team building and friendly competition, as well as a great show of support for Brave Futures – and for Ipswich, where two of our branches are based. What’s more, it was wonderful to meet and chat to so many lovely people and let them know a little more about us, and what we do. The Hunnaball family is over and above ‘just’ funerals; We are real people, here for you… and it’s an honour to be able to deliver the most detailed, compassionate care we can, at all levels and stages, when you and your family needs it the most.
