Over 250 people attended the annual Service of Thanksgiving in Remembrance at the Deanery Church of St Mary the Virgin in Bocking on Sunday 8th May.
The event, which a is held during the week of the Flower Festival, was organised by Janet Davies, Braintree’s lady funeral director, and led by the Very Revd Canon Philip Need. Also in attendance was Philip Blatchly, President of the National Association of Funeral Directors who read a lesson.
Something new for the service this year was the Ringtones Barbershop Quartet, who performed several pieces during the service, and also had an impromptu session in the church hall afterwards!
It was a very moving and uplifting service, and those who attended left with a sense of comfort and hope.
