- What religions do you do funerals for?
We work with families, priests and ministers of many different religions and always welcome learning about new ones. We have a great deal of experience of Christian funerals of many different denominations, and in Colchester we also work very closely with the Muslim community, sharing our facilities in any way necessary. We have also conducted funerals in the Jewish, Hindu, and Pagan traditions. Some religions, for reasons of faith or tradition, request an all-male team, which we understand entirely. - Do you have a Chapel of Rest in York House?

- Do I have to have a funeral at my local crematorium?
A funeral can take place at any location you request, although there are laws which must be followed regarding cremations and burials. Most of the funeral services we conduct take place at a local crematorium but we also conduct services at places of worship, at the graveside, in green and woodland burial grounds, and we have even conducted burials in the garden of the deceased. The choice really is up to you, but it can come with additional cost and requirements of the legal system. Please talk to your local funeral arranger if you have any special requests.
